Eveready Flashlight Redesign

This was a technical project, trying to learn forms inside and out. I selected an Eveready flight and expanded the many small parts into an operational sequence, trying to understand how people would typically use the product, and how to convey the object’s function. The next step was to understand each individual piece, dissecting the flashlight and creating a physical exploded view model, as well as an illustrated exploded view model. With the knowledge of how the flashlight functions and how the pieces interact, I redesigned the flashlight to be more efficient with materials. My solution lead me to make the flashlight smaller, as there was a lot of unused space inside, and changed the way the user grips the handle and operated on/off button.

This project taught me:

  • - Technical Drawing
  • - Displaying Product
  • - Iterative Design
